Recognizing the size of decimal numbers is considered first, combating the most common misconceptions and allowing you to order decimal numbers. Next comes the appreciation of number rationality - we ask, how can a number be considered rational or irrational? Once you understand what decimal numbers are, we can then consider their use in calculations, beginning with addition and subtraction, and then moving on to multiplication and division. Finally, some interesting facts about the use of numbers between 0 and 1 in calculations will be considered.
